We are a beachfront surf-themed lodge offering comfortable, affordable bedrooms in a rustic setting, along with two luxury bungalows set amongst the palm trees and bush. There is no air conditioning, TV or any luxury amenities. There are fans in all the bedrooms. We have animals living on the property. The house is fully self-catering and sleeps 14, which is always an intimate, chilled vibe and never too crowded. The Surfhouse property sleeps 23 total excluding camping. The rooms are serviced daily, beds are made with white linens and towels.
The Surf Camp was founded in 2013 to bring a bit of the SA Surfari experience from their surf trips, to Umzumbe. Seeing that there wasn’t a prevalent surf school in the area, Ali and Rich brought their many years of experience in surf instruction to the South Coast. With almost 20 years of combined surf experience and 8 years of experience in teaching surf camps to kids and adults, it was only a matter of time before Umzumbe Surf Camp was established.
